Your Home, My Priority.

Ben Tucker - Bellingham Real Estate Co.

Hi There, I’m Ben Tucker…

A husband, a proud dad to my three amazing boys, and a real estate broker who’s been lucky enough to call Whatcom County home for over 20 years. For the past 9 years, I’ve had the privilege of helping people buy and sell homes. Getting to play a part in such an important process is something I don’t take for granted, and I wake up excited to make this experience a memorable one for you.

I live and work by a simple philosophy: treat others the way you want to be treated. That means honesty, respect, and great communication. I combine that with a lot of hard work, integrity, and a healthy dose of humor to make sure the process is as smooth and enjoyable as possible.

If you’re buying or selling and want someone who will treat you like family, keep things stress-free, and help you find creative solutions along the way, I’d love to chat. Let’s make this a fun and exciting experience! Reach out any time via call, text, or email!

What my clients have to say…

  • Ben kept things clear, explained each step in plain language, and stayed ahead of every question before I even had to ask. When the market got tricky, he stayed cool and navigated it like a pro, never missing a beat.

  • When it comes to the home buying process, there is a lot of trust in whom you work with. I trust Ben without hesitation, and refer him often. In my most recent purchase, we negotiated $34k off of asking, closed within 2.5 weeks and got a core list of items completed from the inspections list.

    - Brandon

  • Selling a home can be a daunting process, but working with Ben Tucker turned it into a remarkably smooth and successful experience. Ben's expertise in the real estate market, combined with his exceptional client service, truly sets him apart.

Giving Back

Drink Local, Think Global.

One of Bellingham Real Estate Company’s core values is giving. We’re passionate about giving back to our community and making a difference, even in small ways, for people we may never meet.

That’s why we support charity:water, an incredible nonprofit that brings sustainable clean water to areas that need it most. We may only be able to make a small impact, but every drop counts. Each month, we host the Clean Water Happy Hour at Overflow Taps to benefit charity: water. With every drink that’s ordered, a donation is made! It’s a fun way to gather with friends, family, neighbors, and community members – and your first pint’s on us!

In addition to the Clean Water Happy Hour events, our office donates to local non-profits with every home we sell.

Some questions come up a lot. Lets see if we can answer a few!

Buying or selling a home is a big deal, and it’s completely normal to have lots of questions! While I’ll address a few common queries here, please don’t hesitate to contact me with any additional questions you may have!

  • This depends on your income, debt, credit score, and how much you have saved for a down payment. A good rule of thumb is that your monthly housing payment should not exceed 28-30% of your gross monthly income. Speaking to a lender can give you a clearer picture of what you qualify for.

  • Pre-qualification is an initial estimate of how much you can afford based on basic information you provide to a lender. Pre-approval is a more thorough process where the lender verifies your financial information and gives you a formal offer for a loan amount. Pre-approval is generally more useful in competitive markets.

  • I will help you draft an offer based on the home’s list price, current market conditions, and your budget. The offer includes the price you’re willing to pay, any contingencies (such as financing or inspection), and a proposed closing timeline.

  • It’s never too early. If you are starting to think about buying or selling, give me a call at (360) 393-5726. Whether you are a month or years away from making a move, we will come up with a plan of action that fits your timeline. It’s good to have a plan!

  • Pricing your home correctly is crucial. As your real estate agent, I will perform a comparative market analysis (CMA), which looks at recent sales of similar homes in your area. They’ll also consider the condition of your home, current market conditions, and any unique features.

  • First impressions matter, so consider cleaning, decluttering, and making any necessary repairs. Staging your home can also help buyers envision themselves living there. Once I’ve seen your home, I can provide specific advice on what improvements will provide the best return on investment.

  • It depends. Major issues like a leaky roof or faulty electrical systems should definitely be addressed. For smaller issues, it might be worth weighing the cost of repairs against the potential return on investment. I will help you prioritize what’s necessary.
